Introduction to PDO Threads

PDO Honey Derma threads are used for ‘non-surgical’ face and neck lifts, as well as facial rejuvenation and wrinkle reducing treatments. This minimally invasive procedure uses dissolvable PDO Threads (Polydioxanone), a material used in medicine for many years – mainly in heart surgery.

PDO threads relax muscles and tendons while stimulating the production of new collagen in the skin. Within the body, they can help speed up lymphatic drainage. PDO also stimulate the production of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, vital for maintaining youthful looking skin. An immediate effect can often be seen after treatment, however the results will improve over the course of 2 to 3 months.

Which areas can be treated?

PDO threads are extremely versatile and can be applied practically anywhere on the face and body. In a recent pilot study (Suh et al, 2015), results from 31 facial procedures with PDO barbed and mono threads were evaluated, and showed 87% satisfaction with results over a 24 month period.
